The late Esley Ainsley Parchment was born in Jamaica in the Parish of St Elizabeth, the District of Great Bay on December 9th 1928. He was the 3rd of nine children born to his parents Mary and Croswell Parchment. Esley attended Sandy Bank Primary School. After leaving Sandy Bank Primary at a young age, he went to Kingston to stay with his Aunt B where he finished his education. He then went to work for the University of the West Indies. While there, he met and married Dorothy Pottinger and the union produced 2 sons, Ronald and Linden.
The family migrated to the United States where Esley worked for US Sugar until he retired. Dorothy pre-deceased him as well as another son Peter Parchment. Esley later met and married his second wife Leonie known to all of us as Jenny.
Esley lived a quiet life, he loved to spend his quiet time with his hobbies, fishing and swimming. He was also good at working with his hands, making miniature ships and boats. One of his favorite things was to play his guitar and sing.
Esley loved the Lord and as a devoted Christian, he loved his church and his church members.
Esley is survived by his wife Jenny, Sons, Ronald and Linden. Grandchildren Renee’, Alicia, Suzette and Serena. Sister, Kathleen, brother Everette, daughters in law Bridgit and Polly, several great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He will be sadly missed.
