A memorial gathering for friends and family of Colleen Marie Olden will be held on Saturday, August 18, 2018 from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM with time of reflection and sharing at 5:30 PM in the chapel of Craig-Flagler Palms Funeral Home, 511 Old Kings Road S. Flagler Beach FL. Colleen Olden a resident of Palm Coast passed away peacefully on July 27, 2018 in the Stuart F. Meyer Hospice House. She was born on November 15, 1959 in Miami-Dade County, FL the daughter of Robert Eugene Olden of Green Valley AZ and the late Joan Carol Rose Olden. Colleen was an outstanding swimmer at Wolfson High School and she taught swimming lessons to young children. Colleen attended the University of Florida where she was active in Phi Mu Fraternity and Florida Blue Key, a leadership honorary. Colleen interned with Florida Senator Edgar Dunn during the 1979 legislative session and she served as a Legislative Aide to Florida Representative Andrew “Andy” Johnson. She graduated with her Bachelor’s Degree from the University of North Florida. Colleen was a well-known representative for quality giftware through her company, Olden Group Inc. She had a keen business sense, and she built a successful business as a buyer for gift shops along the north, and east coast, of Florida, which also enabled her to make connections with people along the way with her gift of gab! A woman of integrity, grace, and elegance, Colleen contributed both her time, talents and generous giving to more people than most have ever known. She was a charter member of the Kiwanis Club of Flagler County where she was awarded “Kiwanian of the Year” and she was instrumental in establishing the First Kiwanis Club in the Ukraine. She hosted a family from that Kiwanis Club in their visit to the United States. A proud survivor of cancer, Colleen volunteered many hours for the annual “Relay for Life” race. In addition to her father, she is survived by her brother, Christopher and his wife Christine Olden of Altamonte Springs FL, niece, Savanah Olden, nephew Cameron Olden, loving members of her sorority, Phi Mu Fraternity and numerous friends in the Palm Coast area. All saw Colleen through her outstanding service to her fellow man, as she helped improve many lives.
