Charles Vreeland

Charles R. Vreeland, 87, of Palm Coast, Florida 87, passed away peacefully on Friday, November 25, 2022. Charles was born in Jersey City, New Jersey on February 3, 1935 to the late John & Helen (Payer) Vreeland.

After attending Dickenson High School, he worked for Westinghouse, and served the US Army as a Military Police Officer, where he was stationed in Hawaii from 1958-1960. Charlie enjoyed most of his adult life living “down the shore” in Forked River, NJ, where he enjoyed a successful 30 year career in real estate, prior to “retiring” in Florida. Retirement didn’t last long, as Charlie revitalized his post retirement career in the Florida real estate market for another 10 years.

Charlie was a lifelong Lacey Elk’s Club Member, an avid reader, enjoyed collecting coins and “tchotchkes”, history, current events, politics, cooking, landscaping and genealogy, but anyone who knew him knows his passion was the stock market and investing. Any conversation with Charles would include hot stock tips and retirement planning advice.

Charlies family and friends will remember him as a beloved big brother, blue eyed charmer, sharp dresser, fascinating story teller, and perceptive character brimming with stories, advice, ideas and his unique sense of humor. He will be missed.

He is survived by his daughters Denise Vreeland of Palm Coast, FL, Cheryl Wisenbaker (Tony) of Beaumont, Texas and step-daughter Kathleen Bunassar of Palm Coast, FL. Sisters: Carol Moersdorf (Charles) of Neshanic Station, NJ, Betty Molnar of Forked River, NJ and numerous nieces and nephews. He was pre-deceased by his wife Jo Ann Vreeland, brother Jack Vreeland and brother in law, Geza Molnar.

A private service will be held at Craig-Flagler Palms Funeral Home. Under the direction of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Clergy. Inurnment to follow at Cape Canaveral National Cemetery. The family appreciates your prayers.
