Bonnie Ruth Holland Baker, age 77 of Bunnell, passed away at home on Friday, September 27, 2019, surrounded by loved ones. Bonnie was born in DeLand, Florida, on November 16, 1941 to the late David L Holland and Effie L Hayes Holland.
Bonnie was a retired cosmetologist, loving mother and homemaker, living in Bunnell with her husband, William “Bill” Ford Baker. Bonnie and Bill were married for thirty-nine years and enjoyed farming for many years. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Bunnell. Bonnie loved craft projects such as card making, painting, ceramics and crocheting. She also loved going to the dirt track races on Saturday nights to watch her grandson (DJ) and friends racing.
Bonnie is survived by her loving husband W.F. “Bill” Baker, brothers Donald Holland (Edna) and William “Rusty” Holland; daughters Benita (Doug) Hamilton, Betsy (JoRudi) Trapp, Melinda “Sissy” Johnston, Sheila Hazellief, Melinda (Scott) Schalk, Karen (Jim) Stella; sons Gary (Linda) Hazellief, W.F. “Billy” Baker Jr.; grandchildren Jessica (Chris) Westbrook, Julian “J.R.” (Erin) Durrance Jr., Donald “D.J.” Nobles III, Cyle “C.J.” (Lauren) Johnston, Michelle (Bryan) McLaren, Elissa (Travis) McAlpine, Dakota Baker, Jacob Hazellief, Jeremy Miller, James Schalk, Todd Williams, Heather Kestner, and Greg Stella; great grandchildren Sterling, Levi and Laci Westbrook, Caysen Nobles, Gage and Lauren Durrance, Cole Johnston, Todd Williams, and Ellianna Schalk.
Bonnie was predeceased by her daughter, Brenda Lee Miller, stepson, Ronald “Ronnie” Hazellief and grandson, Carl “Too” Mitchell, II.
Bonnie instructed that we not be sad over her passing and that she is at peace. Bonnie did not want a funeral, but agreed to celebration of life gathering at Haw Creek Preserve at Russell Landing “the way we used to do”.
We will celebrate Bonnie’s beautiful life on her birthday, November, 16, 2019, at Russell Landing, County Road 2007, Bunnell, beginning at 3:00 pm. Please bring a covered dish, your beverage choice and a lawn chair. During the celebration we will disperse ashes into the creek where she loved to fish.
