John Stanford Gill

Born on March 5, 1948 at Montgomery, WV, he was the son of the late Stanford Allen and Evelyn Virginia Paxton Gill.

John attended the Fayetteville Church of God. In 1966 he graduated from Fayetteville High School and graduated from WVU Tech with a Master’s Degree in mathematics. He was a retired postmaster with the US Postal Service. In his spare time he enjoyed hunting and fishing. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a close cousin and his wife, Richard and Mildred Paxton.

Those left to cherish his memory include wife, Christy Gallian Gill; daughter, Stacy Renee (Tim) Harrison of Fayetteville; sons, Jeffrey (Rachael) Gill of Morgantown and James Gill of Fayetteville; grandchildren, Amelia, Laurel, Dustin, Ben, and Evitt; and special friends, Terry and Frances Sizemore.

Funeral services will be 1 PM on Friday, October 26, 2018 at Dodd-Payne-Hess Funeral Home, Fayetteville, with Pastor Danny Goins officiating. Burial will follow at Highlawn Memorial Park, Oak Hill.

The family will receive friends from 12 PM to 1 PM on Friday at the funeral home.
