Born on April 18, 1965 at Oak Hill, he was the son of the late William Edward Hambrick Sr. and Allegra Gaye Garten Hambrick.
Steve was a 1983 graduate of Fayetteville High School. He enjoyed writing, theater, and the Arts.
He was a nationally published poet. Steve’s Historic Fayette Theatre acting credits include “Rest Assured” “The Kitchen Witches”, “On Golden Pond”, “Somethin’ Special for Christmas” and “Jacob Marley’s A Christmas Carol”. He also directed productions of Neil Simon’s “The Odd Couple-female version” and “Barefoot in the Park”.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, David Hambrick.
Left to cherish his memory are his siblings, Eddie (Bruce) Hambrick of Columbus, Ohio, Kitty Hambrick of Fayetteville, Missy Luce of Charleston, Cindy (Ray) Garrett of Charleston, and Andy (Christy) Hambrick of Fayetteville; nieces, Alyssa Hambrick, Ashlyn Hambrick, Elizabeth Casterline, and Allegra “Allie” Hambrick, all of Fayetteville; great-nephew, Preston; great-niece, Addie; and many other relatives and friends.
A memorial service will be held at 2 pm on Sunday, July 1, 2018 at Dodd-Payne-Hess Funeral Home, Fayetteville.
The family will receive friends one hour before the memorial service on Sunday.
In addition to the above service, a Celebration of Steve’s Life for friends and loved ones is being planned.
