Betty Lois Smith

Betty Lois Haynie Smith, 91 years old, widow of Harold Andrew Smith and daughter of the late Ewing P. and Nellie Smith Haynie passed away on Sunday, July 29, 2018. She was born on March 2, 1927 at Cannelton, WV.

She was sister of the late Ewing Haynie Jr. and Carol Hope Lawrence.

Betty was the mother of Gary Lee (Stella) Smith of Huntington, Keith Allen (Angie) Smith of Fayetteville, and Pamela Gail (David) Tomlin of Fayetteville. She was grandmother of Tim (Amy) Smith, Greg Smith, Sara (Jeremy) Plybon, Alicia (Andy) Mullins, Jeremy (Christi) Smith, Josh (Jamie) Smith, Miranda (Anthony) Treadway, Jason (Marilyn) Laxton, Chris (Katie) Laxton, Brandon Laxton, and Tiffany (Jody) Vernon; great-grandmother of Ashlee, Chase, Courtney, Ella, Kaylee, Calie, Sawyer, Garrett, Ireland, Hunter, Talan, Javin, and Ivory.

Betty was a member of Fayetteville Baptist Church and her favorite phrase was “I’ve had a good life”.

Funeral service will be held at 2 PM, Wednesday, August 1, 2018 at Dodd-Payne-Hess Funeral Home, Fayetteville with Pastor Ron George Jr and Rev. David Sneed officiating. Burial will follow at Huse Memorial Park, Fayetteville.

The family will receive friends one hour before the funeral on Wednesday at the funeral home.
