Thomas John Thom, beloved husband, father and friend, died peacefully in the hands of God on March 28, 2015. Dear husband to Betty (Kalafut) Thom; father to Rachel Thom and grandfather to Olivia Thom; brother to Nancy Johnson (Scottsdale, AZ) Donna Hoy and Jane Stockhaus (Minneapolis, MN); predeceased by twin brother George and parents Arthur Christopher and Mary Thom; uncle to numerous nieces and nephews. Tom was born on February 5th, 1936 in Minneapolis, Minnesota. He graduated from the University of Minnesota with a degree in political science and completed his master’s studies. He served in the Government for 49 years as a statistician with the National Institutes of Health. Tom was a devoted husband, father and humble servant, dutifully serving in the Knights of Columbus for many years.
Calling hours will be held from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at Murphy Funeral Home, 1102 W. Broad Street, Falls Church, VA. A mass of Christian burial will be held on Thursday, April 9, 2015 at 1:00 PM St. James Church, Falls Church, VA.
