R. Charlotte Sheets, age 88, passed away Tuesday, September 15, 2015 at home in Chesapeake, Virginia surrounded by her family. Charlotte was a long-time Falls Church resident and member of National Gardens Baptist Church. She was born in Stephenson, West Virginia on February 22, 1927 and was predeceased in death in 1989 by her loving husband of 38 years, Claude Sheets, Jr.; her parents Lester and Artie Love; four sisters and several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
Charlotte had a successful career at the FBI in Washington, D.C., retiring after 40 years. Afterwards she worked at H&R Block for 10 years. She was a very loving, caring, joyful person who was very involved in her church, enjoyed life and spending time with her family and friends.
Charlotte is survived by her daughter, Carol Hylton and husband David, of Chesapeake, Va.; her only surviving sibling, brother, Robert Love, of Cibolo, Texas, several nieces and nephews, as well as extended family. We would like to extend special thanks to Charlotte's long time caregiver, Constance Lawton, who became part of our family. Charlotte will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Our family would also like to thank Visiting Physicians Association, Pinnacle Senior Care and Grace Hospice, all of Norfolk, Virginia, who provided compassionate medical care for Charlotte.
A Celebration of Her Life will be held on Saturday, September 19, 2015 at Noon at Murphy Funeral Home, Falls Church burial immediately following at National Memorial Park, Falls Church. A reception will follow back at the Funeral Home after the burial. The family will welcome friends from 5 to 8 p.m. on Friday, September 18, 2015 at the funeral home.
