John "Jack" Joseph Kennedy died peacefully September 18, 2021, surrounded by his family. Jack is survived by his beloved wife Arline (Jacques), three children, Sherry (and Jim) Burd, Brian (and Kim), Jonathan (and Michelle), and grandchildren Alexis, John, Christina, Julia, Emma, Lauren, Caitlyn and Ashley. Jack was born October 27, 1941, in Altoona, Pennsylvania to Raymond and Irene (Harrison) Kennedy. Jack was the youngest of their four children. After trade school, Jack relocated to Virginia where he took a job with Buhl Electric and stayed for over 40 years until his retirement. Jack’s proudest accomplishment was his family. His best days were spent with them at the mountains of West Virginia and the beaches in Sea Isle City, Ocean City and Siesta Key. Jack was an avid collector of antiques. From model trains to tractors and vintage farm tools, he loved the thrill of the hunt and the satisfaction that came from finding a good bargain. Jack was a member of St. James Catholic Church for over 50 years. A visitation for Jack will be held Friday, October 8, 2021 from 5:00PM to 8:00PM at National Funeral Home, 7482 Lee Highway, Falls Church, VA 22042. A mass of christian burial will be held Saturday, October 9, 2021 from Noon to 1:00PM at St. James Roman Catholic Church, 905 Park Avenue, Falls Church, VA 22046. A graveside service followed by a reception will be held Saturday, October 9, 2021 from 1:15PM to 4:00PM at National Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations in tribute may be made to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research in memory of Jack at https://bit.ly/inmemoryofjack.
