John “Jack” McMahon, 83, of McLean, VA passed away September 8, 2015. He was born in Fall River, MA on June 2, 1932. Jack graduated from Tuff University and went on to receive his Masters from NC University War College. He leaves behind his beloved companion Florence Brennan.
Jack served in the United States Air Force for 37 years and retired with the rank of Colonel. He had a distinguished career receiving numerous awards and decorations. He was a member of the Red River Valley Fighter Pilots Association, Vietnam Veterans of American Chapter 227, and a lifetime member of the McLean American Legion Post 270.
He is survived by his sons Norwood, Douglas, and John; his brothers Jeffrey, William, Robert and Terrance; his beloved grandchildren, nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews.
Friends may gather at Murphy Funeral Home, 1102 W. Broad St. Falls Church between the hours of 6:00PM to 8:00PM Wednesday, October 14, 2015. Funeral services will be at 11:00AM, Thursday, October 15, 2015 at St. John the Beloved Catholic Church, McLean, VA. Mr. McMahon will have military honor services at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.
