Jean Ling Freeman

Jean Ling “Jean” Lin Freeman, 79, was born in Qing Dao, China. Even from childhood, Jean had a deep love for education and was a lifelong student. Jean attended the National University of Taiwan, obtaining a degree in History. She even went on to obtain an MBA in her later adult years! She was deeply active in her community, particularly in the areas of childhood learning and education. She loved to care for others, regardless of age or 4-legged status! She received many awards and recognition for her local activism and support. Jean had many hobbies including painting, gardening, and reading. Jean cared deeply for her family and was a loving wife and mother. She enjoyed the company of her son’s 2 dogs and spoke of them often. Jean is survived by her son Michael Lin Freeman, and her brothers Chung Yung Wang and Chung Hsing Wang, and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband Douglas Chun Yen Lin Freeman, her brother Chung Lee Wang, sister Jean Chun Chang, mother Pei Huan Lee Wang, and father His Chih Wang. A visitation for Jean will be held Friday, August 4, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Murphy Funeral Homes, 1102 West Broad Street, Falls Church, VA 22046, followed by a funeral service from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM.
