James S Bassett

JAMES S. BASSETT, age 70, entered the presence of Jesus his Lord on Sunday, May 15, 2011. Mr. Bassett, a former government employee, built homes for some time and loved farming. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and was an active gun enthusiast. He was a faithful member of Manassas Assembly of God Church for more than 50 years where he taught Sunday school and was a long-time usher. He was preceded in death by his parents, Sanford and Ruth Bassett and infant granddaughter, Lauren Adams. He is survived by his loving wife of nearly 45 years, Linda Bast Bassett of Catlett, Virginia; daughter, Lynnette R. Adams and husband John of Parsons, West Virginia; son, James S. Bassett, Jr. and wife Monica of Leesburg, Virginia and four granddaughters, Caroline, Melanie and Tabitha Adams and Juliet Bassett. The family will receive friends from 6:00-9:00 P.M. Friday, May 20, 2011 at Pierce Funeral Home, 9609 Center Street, Manassas, Virginia. Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M. Saturday, May 21, 2011 at Manassas Assembly of God, 11500 New Life Way, Bristow, Virginia. Interment will follow at National Memorial Park, Falls Church, Virginia. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to MAG Missions Department, 11500 New Life Way, Bristow, Virginia 20136 or Catlett Volunteer Fire & Rescue Department, P.O.
