Elizabeth Ann Bell

Elizabeth (Betty) S. Bell, born July 8, 1933 in Washington, DC, passed away peacefully on the morning of September 30, 2015. Elizabeth raised her family in Sterling, VA until 1976 when they moved to North Arlington where her two youngest children attended elementary, middle and high school. Her two eldest were by this time grown, one in college, the other serving in the US Army. Elizabeth enjoyed a rewarding and successful career as a satellite photo analyst for the U.S. government, retiring in 1995 after serving for 30 years. She enjoyed travel, reading, and spending time with her family, particularly her grandchildren. She is survived by her brother Clayton (Arlington), son Paul and his wife Birgit (Heidelberg, Germany), daughter Laura (Richmond), son John and his wife Theresa (Fairfax), daughter Heather (Vienna), grandson Marc and his wife Ivana (Heidelberg, Germany), grandson Nils and his wife Jes (Gardiner, ME), granddaughter Erin (Richmond), young grandchildren James (13), Michael and Alanna (9) (Fairfax), and great grandson Ian (Heidelberg, Germany). Visitation will be held Wednesday, October 7, 5-9pm, at National Funeral Home, 7482 Lee Hwy, Falls Church, VA 22042.
