Dorothy Louise Pierson

Dorothy (Dottie) Louise Pierson 91, of Falls Church VA, passed away on October 30, 2023 at Fairfax Hospital with family by her side. She was born on September 14, 1932 in Washington D.C. at Georgetown Hospital to Edward B. Round and Olive A. Round.

She was married to James C. Pierson for 41 years before he preceded her in death.

Dottie was a lover of game shows, soap operas, dancing, bowling, crossword puzzles and above all else her family. She was a true survivor after battling breast cancer and colon cancer she came out the victor. She suffered great loss in her life and yet never felt sorry for herself or gave up on trying. Dottie retired from Safeway after 33 years of service.

She leaves to cherish in her memories: four daughters; Doris Hart, Gail Inman, Mary Pierson and Patti Clark, two brothers; Donald (Delanne) Round, and Robert Round, one sister; Diane (Ron) Orndoff, one sister-in-law; Miriam Round, 13 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, 9 great-great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, and a host of friends.

Two children; Walter Cauble Jr. and Brenda Bridges preceded Dottie in death as well as two brothers; Edward B. Round Jr. , Ralph Round, and her parents and her husband.

A visitation for Dorothy will be held Tuesday, November 7, 2023 from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM at Murphy Funeral Homes, 1102 West Broad Street, Falls Church, VA 22046. A funeral service will occur Tuesday, November 7, 2023 from 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM, 1102 West Broad Street, Falls Church, VA 22046. A graveside service will occur Tuesday, November 7, 2023 from 2:00 PM to 2:30 PM at National Memorial Park, 7482 Lee Highway, Falls Church, VA 22042.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Ovarian Cancer Society or Breast Cancer Society.
