Charles ”Chuck” Edward Coleman, 68, of Centreville, Virginia, passed away on January 26, 2024 in INOVA Fairfax Hospital, Annandale, Virginia. Chuck was born in Memphis, Tennessee to George Welton and Dorothy June Coleman on September 7, 1955. He earned a B.S. in Geography from the University of Tennessee at Martin in 1980. Having participated in ROTC, he spent 11 years serving in the US Army Signal Corps, resigning his commission at the rank of captain in 1991. He married Alicia Genevieve Cremins on October 17, 1987 at St. Jude’s Catholic Church in Atlanta, Georgia. After his time in the Army, he worked as an RF/Electrical Engineer as a contractor for various companies in the Washington, D.C. area. Chuck enjoyed military history, especially researching WWII aircraft and aircraft crashes, and was a lifelong animal lover. He is preceded in death by his parents, George Welton Coleman and Dorothy June Coleman. Chuck is survived by his wife of 36 years, Alicia Cremins Coleman; his two children Alicia Katherine Coleman of Winston-Salem, NC, Wesley Reid Coleman of Los Angeles, CA; his four sisters Wanda Mark of Atlanta, GA, Karen C. Wallace of Memphis, TN, Pamela J. McDonald of Enville, TN, Tammye Dee Holliman of Memphis, TN; one brother, Welton Eugene Coleman of Hernando, MS; 8 nieces and nephews; 3 grand nieces and nephews; as well as 7 nieces and nephews on his wife’s side of the family. Memorials may be given to Rappahannock Animal Welfare League (RAWL) https://www.rawldogs.org/ or the Gary Sinise Foundation https://www.garysinisefoundation.org. Funeral services will be held at a later date in Tennessee.
