Betty Louise Ford

FORD, Betty Myers died on February 25, 2024. A resident of Heritage Hunt in Gainesville, VA, Betty died of complications following a brief illness. Born in 1939 in South Arlington, to Margaret and Irvin P. Myers, Betty was preceded in death by her beloved husband Richard E. Ford, her parents, and two brothers. She is survived by dear sons Richard E., Jr., (Cindy) and Christopher R. (Laura); granddaughters Caitlyn and Chiara; sister Hazel Myers Roberts and brother Donald Myers (Darlene) and sister-in-law Eva Hoffman Myers; brother-in-law Louis Ford (Janet); sister-in-law Eileen Ford and Nancy Parrish, longtime family friend; as well as several nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and friends. Betty loved and enjoyed many celebrations with her family and added favorite foods to every occasion.

Following graduation from Wakefield High School in 1956, Betty went to work for the military civil service for 40 years, serving at various Northern Virginia facilities and a post in Germany. She and Richard spent wonderful retirement years traveling abroad, leading tour groups, and singing together in the Fairfax Choral Society and in church choirs.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Fairfax Choral Society (fairfaxchoralsociety.org) in memory of Betty and Richard Ford. Music was a huge part of their life together and Betty would like for you to listen to and sing along with some wonderful choral music.

A memorial service will be planned for a later date in the spring.
