 Obituario de Anthony Curtis Tutt
Anthony Curtis Tutt was born on July 4, 1960, in Washington, D.C., to Walter and Cynthia Tutt. He departed this life and entered eternal rest on December 2, 2022, at his home surrounded by his loving family. Anthony graduated from Falls Church High School where he played the trumpet in the marching band. He was the first in his family to attend college and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from the University of Virginia in 1982. While attending college, he became a member of the Eta Sigma Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity. Anthony married his high school sweetheart Donna “Gussie” Bailey on September 10, 1983, who affectionately called him “Tone.” They truly enjoyed traveling, taking dance lessons, bowling, and enjoying time with family and friends. They were very protective of one another, and Anthony truly cherished the support, love, and care Gussie provided during his illness. This union produced a beautiful daughter, Shari Cynthia. He was extremely proud of Shari and overjoyed to see her graduate from JMU (Undergrad) and UMUC (Grad), walk her down the aisle and marry Janatry, and witness the birth of his twin granddaughters, Aria and Sarai. He was the best “Pappy” and the girls loved him dearly. Upon graduation, Anthony joined Inova Health Systems, where he worked for over 40 years. Anthony also served on the Board of Directors for the Health Care Systems Federal Credit Union. As Site Director of Supply Chain/Materials Management, he managed over 50 employees and was a mentor and friend to many. He was thankful for the love and support he received from executives, employees, and friends during his illness. As a man of faith with a servant heart, Anthony joined Macedonia Baptist Church in Woodford, VA where he was baptized along with his soulmate Donna in 2001. He was a dedicated member and served as a Trustee Chair. He developed a special friendship with his Pastor, Reverend Carroll L. Jackson, and a brotherly bond with Brother James Butler. Anthony enjoyed life and cherished family. He had a happy childhood and held special relationships with each of his siblings, cousins, aunts, and uncles. He loved family trips and often coordinated special father-son excursions with his father, who affectionately called him “My Ace.” He held a special bond with his father-in-law, “JB” and was a father figure to his nieces and nephews. He always made time to support his nieces and nephews by cheering them on at sporting events across the country, attending graduations, and other milestone celebrations. He loved hosting his annual July 4th cookout filled with food, fellowship, and fun. He especially loved earning bragging rights by winning the horseshoe, cornhole, or ping pong tournaments. As a child, he loved playing sports and developed a competitive spirit. His passion for baseball as a child led him to become a NCAA Collegiate Women’s Softball Umpire, where he served for 14 years. He enjoyed coordinating fantasy football and other sporting pools to stay connected with those he loved and foster the competitive spirit. Anthony meant so much to so many. He was loving. Always showing support for his family. He was humble and sought opportunities to help others grow and excel, and was genuinely happy to see others succeed. He was kind and cautious to treat people as he wanted to be treated. He truly exhibited the fruits of the spirit. More importantly, he was and is a child of God. May he rest in peace. Anthony is preceded in death by Mother-in-Law, Marguerite Bailey; Grandmother, Ella Mae Tutt; Grandmother-in-Law, Virginia Murphy; and Anthony’s Best Furry Friend, Kobe. Anthony is survived by his wife, Donna Augusta Bailey; Daughter, Shari Cynthia Sanders and Son-in-law, Janatry Eugene Sanders; grandchildren, Aria and Sarai Sanders; Parents, Walter William Tutt, Jr. and Cynthia June Tutt; Father-in-law, John Henry Bailey, Sr; Siblings, Gale Alease Warren (Leroy) of Forestville, MD; Lisha Elaine Lee (Gregory) of Gastonia, NC; Walter JeJuan Tutt of Luray, VA; Danielle Lynn Lucas (Frank) of Atlanta, GA; and a host of nieces and nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles.
