 Obituario de Alexander C. Bautista
Alexander Concepcion Bautista passed away just past 3:00 pm on Sunday, May 22, 2011 in the Virginia Hospital Center in Arlington, Virginia. Alex was 69 years old and had been battling lung and brain cancer for 6 weeks. Alex was born in the Philippines on December 10, 1941 to Enrique and Mary Concepcion Bautista. He was the eldest of 4 children, his siblings Maria Josephina (Josie), Maria Louisa (Lulu), and Arturo (Rory) loved him very much. Alex grew up in the Philippines near Manila and studied physics at the University of the Philippines. Alex met Patricia Zulueta in the Philippines in 1966. They lost touch for 7 years, and were reconnected by Alex's mother in 1973. They were married in Manila on January 31, 1976 and recently celebrated their 35th wedding anniversary. Alex and Pat had 2 daughters, Catherine and Charissa. They moved to the United States in 1981, where Alex hoped to make a good life for his family. They found an apartment in Falls Church, Virginia, where they lived for 3 years, until they moved into a house in 1984. Their house was just down the street from Alex's sister (Josie) and her family. Alex was very interested in computers, and worked in the computer hardware field once his family moved to Falls Church, Virginia. He worked at Data, Incorporated for many years, and for several other companies afterwards. He retired from Sage Software in 2009. Alex's main concern was to make sure that his daughters learned to be independent and successful. As they grew, he always encouraged them to work hard and try to excel at school and sports. Leading by example, he taught them how to be confident in themselves and that hard work would be rewarded. Once his girls grew to have families of their own, Alex knew that he succeeded. Alex relished in spending time with and spoiling his 5 grandchildren. He was able to relax and truly enjoy his life: quiet time at home with his wife, then chaotic silly time when his grandchildren visited. He loved to make people laugh and he displayed his silly sense of humor often. Alex is survived by his wife, Patricia Zulueta Bautista, daughters, Catherine Bautista Hill and husband Michael Hill (Mechanicsville, VA), Charissa Bautista Alexander and husband David Alexander (King George, VA), grandchildren Tyler, Hannah, Sabrina, Olivia, Mason, and one more on the way, his brother Arturo Bautista, and many aunts, uncles, cousins nieces, and nephews. Alex is predeceased by his sisters Maria Josephina Cincotta (December 2006) and Maria Louisa Bautista (March 1997). A Mass of Christian Burial be held on Thursday, June 2, 2011 at 10:00 AM at St. James Catholic Church at 905 Park Avenue, Falls Church, VA 22046. Alex's pallbearers will be Anthony Cincotta, Tomas Cincotta, Michael Hill, David Alexander, Jarrett Laskey, and Andrew Hein. Visitation will be held at the National Funeral Home on Wednesday, June 1, 2011 from 4:00 PM - 8:00 PM. Alex will be laid to rest in the National Memorial Park, immediately following the funeral mass.
