Tom Borge

John T. Borge, “Tom,” age 72, of Fall River, passed away Saturday, February 11, 2017 at the West Roxbury V.A. Hospital. Born in Fall River, a son of the late Arthur C. and Antoinette (Paquette) Borge, he had been a lifelong resident of the city.

A graduate of B.M.C. Durfee High School, he attended the University of South Carolina and was a Veteran of the United States Air Force having served during the Vietnam War.

Tom worked as a bartender at the Belmont Club and the Fraternal Order of Eagles both in Fall River for over thirty years retiring in 2005.

An avid golfer, he was a longtime member of the Fall River Country Club since the early 1970’s. He was a sports enthusiast and a huge fan of the Boston Red Sox. He treasured time spent with his family.

He is survived by one brother; Bob Borge of Cleveland, TN; his caregiver and nephew, Michael Borge and several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Edmund Borge, Myrtle Cyr, Ruth Medeiros and Barbara Borge.

His Funeral will be held on Thursday, February 16 , 2017 at 9:00 AM from the Waring-Sullivan Home of Memorial Tribute at Cherry Place, 178 Winter St., Fall River followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00 AM in Holy Name Church, 709 Hanover St., Fall River. Visiting hours Wednesday from 5:00 to 7:00 PM. Burial with Military Honors in St. Patrick's Cemetery, Fall River.
