It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Thomas (“Skip”) John Karam of Fall River, Massachusetts, who left us far too soon at the age of 56. His unexpected departure has left a void in the hearts of all who knew him.
Skip was known for his quick wit, infectious humor, and a kind, generous spirit that touched everyone around him. He had a remarkable ability to make people laugh and brought joy to every gathering, whether among friends or family. His love for spending time with those he cared about was a testament to his warm heart and easygoing nature.
Though his time with us was shorter than we ever imagined, Skip lived fully, embracing every moment with enthusiasm, laughter, and love. His memory will continue to shine bright in our hearts, and his legacy of humor and kindness will never be forgotten.
Skip lived life on his own terms and passed away surrounded by love and those closest to him. His strength and determination became an inspiration, and his absence will be deeply felt forever.
He is survived by his parents Thomas E. Karam and Elizabeth (DeFusco) Karam; two sisters, Jennifer Medeiros (Kevin), Elizabeth McCarthy (Jay); two nephews, Matthew Medeiros, Ryan Medeiros and a niece, Samantha Medeiros in addition to several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Skip spent his entire career working for the Massachusetts State Lottery. He was a 1986 graduate of B.M.C. Durfee High School where he played basketball, football, and baseball, and a member of the 1984 State Championship Basketball Team. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from Boston University.
His presence in our lives was a true gift, and we will cherish the memories we shared forever.
His Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 12, 2024 from 3 to 6pm in the Waring-Sullivan Home at Cherry Place, 178 Winter St. in Fall River, where we will celebrate his life and the joy he brought to us all. To place an online tribute or for directions, please visit: www.waring-sullivan.com
