Stephen Platt, age 79, of Somerset, passed away Monday, September 5, 2022 in Clifton Rehabilitation and Nursing Center. He was the husband of Lucille (Remy) Platt to whom he has been married for the past 32 years.
Born in Fall River, he was the son of the late Walter and Rose Mary (Higgins) Platt. He lived in Fall River for many years prior to moving to Somerset thirty years ago.
A graduate of Diman Regional Vocational Technical High School, Class 1962, he was Veteran of the United States Navy and the United States Coast Guard. Stephen worked as a Technician in the telecommunication industry for thirty-five years retiring from Verizon in 2001.
He was a communicant of St. Nicholas Myra Catholic Church in Dighton and was a member of the Knights of Columbus. He was an experienced Scuba Diver and Instructor and enjoyed biking.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by one daughter, Kelly Gardner of Fall River; one son, Philip Platt and his wife Sondra of Westport; one sister, Roni Lesage of Burlington, VT; two grandchildren, Mathieu Platt of Austin, TX, Stephanie McConnell and her husband Kyle of Dartmouth and one great grandson Cole.
Private arrangements are in the care of the Waring-Sullivan Home at Cherry Place, Fall River.
