Patricia (Vasconcellos) Gamer, age 82, a lifelong resident of Fall River, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 18, 2024. She was the wife of the late William F. Gamer and long-time companion of the late Richard Medeiros.
Born in Fall River, the daughter of the late Adelino Costa Vasconcellos and Anna (Rego) Rodrigues, and was a graduate of BMC Durfee High School. In her youth, she worked for Globe Manufacturing. She later went on to become the longtime Administrative Assistant to the Executive Director of the Fall River Model Cities Agency, which later became the Community Development Agency, where Patricia retired in 2002.
Patricia also worked in the Seekonk Selectmen’s Office and was the School Committee Minutes Clerk for the Swansea School Department for over 45 years, holding an unofficial record in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
She loved traveling, spending time in Newport and Fort Lauderdale, dancing, and spending time with cherished friends, but most of all, she enjoyed being with her family. Patricia was also a faithful communicant of Holy Name Church in Fall River.
Patricia is survived by her two sons, Gary C. Vasconcellos and his wife Laurie, and Marc R. Vasconcellos; four grandchildren, Brit Vasconcellos, Kayla Vasconcellos and her husband Paul Serrano, Kady Vasconcellos and her partner Richard Pare, and Mackenzie Vasconcellos and her fiancé Meghan Gunther; a beloved great-grandson Henry Frerotte; two brothers Paul Vasconcellos and his wife Mary Jane and Brian Rodrigues and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was predeceased by her siblings, John David Rodrigues and Joann E. Rodrigues.
Her funeral will be held on Tuesday, December 24, 2024, at 9 am at the Waring-Sullivan Home at Cherry Place, followed by her Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am in Holy Name Church, 709 Hanover St., Fall River. Burial will be private. Relatives and friends are invited. Visiting hours will be held on Monday, December 23, 2024, from 4 to 7 pm in the funeral home.
