Born in Fall River, a son of the late Otis and Lauretta (Beaulieu) Manchester he was a lifelong resident of the city.
He began his military service in the Naval Reserves and was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served in the Korean Conflict. He worked for the City of Fall River and the Water Department for 29 years before retiring in 1990. A lifetime member of the Fall River Elks Lodge, he enjoyed country music and westerns and wartime films.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Gail Moreira and her husband Ronald, Dennis Manchester and his wife Donna and Kathleen Pacheco and her husband Gary; seven grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Edward, Robert, Ronald and Roger Manchester.
His Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, April 18, 2017 at 9:00 AM from the WARING-SULLIVAN HOME AT CHERRY PLACE, 178 Winter St., Fall River with a Mass at 10:00 AM in St. Joseph’s Church, 1335 North Main St., Fall River.
