Larry O. Sousa, age 63 of Rio Verde, AZ, formerly of Fall River, MA passed away Monday, October 23, 2023, at Charlton Memorial Hospital after a long battle with lung disease, surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Anna I. Sousa, to whom he had been married for 38 years.
He was born in Sao Miguel, Azores, the son of the late Jose and Evelina (Oliveira) Sousa. Larry owned and operated Sousa’s Plumbing and Heating for many years in the greater Fall River area. In his later years, he was employed by the New England Gas Company and AGI Construction.
In addition to his wife, Larry is survived by his two children, Nathan H. Sousa and his wife Felicia of Somerset and Brittany Sousa of Rio Verde, AZ; a granddaughter Priya Sousa; his beloved dog, Jayda; a brother Norman Sousa of Fall River; two sisters Margaret Carreiro and her husband Paulo of Ormond Beach, FL and Octavia Bernardo of MA;and His in Laws Henrique & Maria Sousa of Westport. Larry was also the brother of the late Reggie Sousa and his surviving wife Natalie Sousa of Fall River.
His Visitation will be held on Friday, October 27, 2023, from 8:00 AM to 9:30 AM in the Waring-Sullivan Home at Cherry Place, 178 Winter St., Fall River, followed by his Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM in Holy Name Church, 709 Hanover St., Fall River. Burial will be private.
