Helen Duffy

She was a lifelong resident of Fall River and worked as a teacher’s assistant at the Ninth Street Day Nursery for many years before retiring in 1985. She was a communicant of the former Sacred Heart Church and a member of their Seniors Club and Women’s Guild. She enjoyed gardening and cherished the time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren & great-grandchildren.

She is survived by two daughters: Jane H. Schieri and her husband Vincent of Fall River and Carol A. Pilat of Tiverton, RI, eight grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She was the mother of the late Donna Beth Rego, the mother-in-law of the late Peter Pilat, and the sister of the late Imelda Lapointe, Emma Raincourt, Yvonne St. Laurent, and Omer and Eugene Gagnon.

Her Funeral will be held Friday, March 6, 2015 at 10:00AM from the WARING-SULLIVAN HOME OF MEMORIAL TRIBUTE at CHERRY PLACE, 178 Winter Street, Fall River, followed by a Funeral Mass at 11:00AM at Holy Name Church, 709 Hanover Street, Fall River. Friends and relatives invited. Visiting hours Thursday from 4:00 to 7:00PM. Burial in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Fall River.
