Eloi H. Levesque, Jr., age 88, passed away peacefully Sunday, November 12, 2023 in the Catholic Memorial Home. He was the loving husband of Theresa A. “Terry” (Ayoub) Levesque with whom he shared 51 years of marriage.
Born in New Bedford, the son of the late Eloi H. and Agnes A. (Carreau) Levesque he was a longtime resident of Westport.
A proud veteran of the United States Navy he served during the Korean Conflict and an additional six years in the Navy Reserves. Mr. Levesque enjoyed a 39-year career as a delivery salesperson for Drakes Bakery retiring in 1997. In his retirement, he worked part-time for the New Bedford Standard Times until 2005.
A faithful member of St. Anthony of the Desert Maronite Catholic Church for many years, he was a member of their choir for over 30 years, he was also a member of the Million Mile Club of the National Safety Council, the Lebanese American Veterans Association, the Lebanese American Society, the Fall River Veterans War Council and a past president of St. Charbel’s Men’s Society. He had an extensive knowledge about airplanes and enjoyed Navy ships, the New England Patriots, sitting on East Beach in Westport and spending the holidays with his cherished family. Eloi volunteered at the Providence Performing Arts Center for 19 years.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by one sister, Pauline Wooley and several loving sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews and extended family and friends.
His visitation will be held Monday, November 20, 2023 from 9:00 – 10:45 AM in St. Anthony of the Desert, 300 North Eastern Ave., Fall River followed by a Funeral Service at 11:00 AM. Relatives and friends are invited. Contributions in his honor may be made to St. Anthony of the Desert Church or to a Veteran's Association in the Fall River area.
