Born in Fall River on September 20, 1924, she was the daughter of the late Thomas Harrington and Elizabeth (Larkin) Harrington of Belmont St. Betty was the youngest of 6 children, brothers Thomas and Edward and sisters Margaret Mullaly, Mary Gardella and Frances Ryding, all deceased. She is survived by sons James E. of Portsmouth, Richard J. and his wife Sally (Cunningham) of Ithaca, NY, grandson Thomas C. and his fiancé Payton Englert of Alexandria,VA and two nieces, five nephews and their spouses.
Betty was a graduate of Durfee High School and Durfee Tech Business School. She worked at Jefferson Electric in Fall River before moving to Portsmouth, RI where she was a homemaker before serving as a clerk at Hathaway school. After retiring, she volunteered at Heatherwood and St. Clare Nursing Homes in Newport before moving to Somerset to help care for her sisters.
She was devoted to her Catholic faith and her family.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 8, 2024 from 5:00 to 7:00 PM in the Waring-Sullivan Home at Cherry Place, 178 Winter St., Fall River. Her Funeral Service and Burial will be private.
