Constance M. “Connie” (Brais) Masse, age 92, of Fall River, passed away Wednesday, October 16, 2024, at Catholic Memorial Home. She was the loving wife of the late Albert W. “Red” Masse, whom she married in 1951.
Born in Central Falls, RI, she was a daughter of the late George J. and Alice (Rousseau) Brais. Connie was a proud graduate of St. Anne’s Academy and Katherine Gibbs Secretarial School. She began her professional journey at Manpower Inc. in Rhode Island before becoming a secretary and admissions clerk at Morton Hospital. Most recently, she served as the executive medical secretary and office manager for doctors Henry Urbaniak and Ronald Hillegass, retiring in 1983.
An avid bird enthusiast, Connie found joy in puzzles and playing Bingo. She dedicated many years to the USS Hornet Reunion Club, where she was honored for her “innumerable talents, knowledge, and dedication.”
Connie adored her family and will be fondly remembered for her holiday meals, especially her famous French meat stuffing and meatballs—recipes that remain a mystery to her loved ones. Her warmth and generosity will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her children: Veronica M, Skaling of Northport, FL, MaryJean Casey and her husband George, of Kingsland, GA, Michael A. Masse of West Boylston, MA, Steven J. Masse of Ridge, NY and Michelle C. Beaulieu and her husband Arthur of Goffstown, NH; her grandchildren: Melissa J. Barboza of Rehoboth, MA, Michael A. Masse, Jr. of Frost Proof, FL, Danielle M. Masse and her wife Kathryn Ross of Gainesville, FL, James R. Masse and his wife Mary of Attleboro, MA, Emily R. Masse of Flanders, NY, Nathan A. Beaulieu and his wife Christina of Goffstown, NH and Timothy B. Beaulieu of Portsmouth, RI; her great grandchildren: Sarahbeth Masse, Lilly Masse, Edward Ross, Samuel Ross, Evelyna Beaulieu and Aureleon Beaulieu; along with many nieces and nephews. She was the mother-in-law of the late Nancy Masse and sister of the late Florence Brais, Gertrude Brais (Sister Mary of the Incarnation), George Brais and Joseph Brais.
