Albert M. Walsh, age 90, of Fall River died February 3, 2011 in Charlton Memorial Hospital after having lived in Clifton Assisted Living in Somerset for several months. He was the husband of the late Idalina “Dolly” (Farias) Walsh.
Born in Greenpoint, NY, a son of the late Joseph and Lillian (Grant) Walsh he spent his youth in Brooklyn attended Grover Cleveland High School, moving to Fall River in 1940. He served as a Master Sgt. during World War II in the United States Air Force, serving with the 305th, the 442nd Carrier Group in England and in France.
Mr. Walsh worked for the former Bristol Knitting Mills for 40 years, retiring in 1986. He was an avid Red Sox and Patriots fan.
Surviving: son Steven A. Walsh and his wife Suzanne M. of Swansea, MA, daughter Dolly Ann Bell and her husband Wilford of Spring Lake, NC, grandchildren: Scott Brisk and Kathy of TN, Kim Mello and Derek of Phoenix, AZ, Mark Brisk and Paula of Westport, MA, Lorie Kauffman and Tom of Bristol, RI, 9 great grandchildren, brother Robert H. Walsh of Lewes, DE, sister Henrietta Walsh of Queens, NY and several nieces and nephews.
His Funeral will be held Monday February 7, 2011 at 9:00 AM from the WARING-SULLIVAN HOME OF MEMORIAL TRIBUTE AT CHERRY PLACE, 178 Winter St., Fall River followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00 AM in Immaculate Conception Church, 15 Thomas Street, Fall River. Visiting hours Sunday 1-3 PM. Contributions in his honor may be made to the Clifton Assisted Living Activities Fund, 444 Wilbur Ave., Somerset, MA 02725. Entombment in Notre Dame Mausoleum.
