She was born on December 26, 1946 to Jesus Garza and Francisca Trevino Garza in Hebbronville, Texas. She married the love of her life, Raymundo Cantu in 1962 and they raised three daughters.
She enjoyed sewing outfits for her daughters when they were younger and she loved to cook during the holidays for her entire family, especially making her famous tamales with her daughters. One of her favorite things to do was make pan de polvo for all her granddaughter's and great granddaughter’s quinceaneras. She loved shopping, vacationing and playing Loteria with her loved ones.
Yolanda was reunited in Heaven with her parents, husband Raymundo Cantu and sister Maria Cristina Guerra.
She leaves behind many warm hearted memories that will endlessly be treasured by her daughters, Maricela (Arnoldo, Jr.) Mendoza, Dolly (Bobby) Ramirez and Norma (Bernard Reyna) Morales all of Hebbronville; Brothers, Alberto (Mary) Garza of Hebbronville, Texas and Jesus Javier (Maricela) Garza of Corpus Christi, Texas; 12 grandchildren, Clarissa, Casandra, Eli, Jr., Kymberly, Claudia, Cecily, Estevan, Lorissa, Elizabeth, Robert Ray, Joe Isaac and Kevin Ruben; 18 great grandchildren,1 great-great grandson; 3 step great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.
Honoring their grandmother as Pallbearers will be Eli Morales Jr., Estevan Morales, Robert Ray Ramirez, Joe Isaac Mendoza, Kevin Ruben Ramirez and Orlando Narvaez III.
A service to celebrate Yolanda's life will be held on Tuesday, July 16, 2024 at the Funeraria Del Angel Howard Williams in Hebbronville. Visitation will begin at 8:30 a.m. with a Rosary to be prayed at 9:30 a.m. Funeral Mass will follow at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Hebbronville, Texas. Services will conclude with a burial at the New Hebbronville Cemetery.
