RC was born in Mason, Texas on September 16, 1926 and grew up in Big Wells, Texas, and later resided in Falfurrias, Texas for over 60 years. RC had a diverse work history which included dozer and oilfield work, driving cattle trucks, owning and running service stations and a dairy farm; he was a representative for Ful-O-Pep Feeds, a cattleman, and retired after over 20 years of service from South Texas Livestock Commission. RC was active in various community events, including the Brooks County Soil and Water Conservation, the American Cancer Society and the county fairs. RC was a faithful member of the Church of Christ and was the song leader for many, many years.
RC was preceded in death by his parents, Richard Chapman and Mary Francis Solomon, his brothers Robert Lee Solomon and A.R. Solomon, Sr., his sister Fadie Mae Welch, and granddaughter Stacey Martin.
RC was a devoted family-man and is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Ruby; four children: Mary (Steve) Martin, Richard (Becki) Solomon, Peggy (Charles) Story, and Jimmy Solomon; 8 grandchildren: Dewayne (Becky) Martin, Shannon (Hilario) Ortiz, Lance (Teresa) Solomon, Travis (Colene) Solomon, Amanda (Louie) Guerra, Summer Solomon, Kelley (Kevin) Kennedy, and Bryan (Angie) Story; and 18 great-grand children.

RC will be deeply missed by his friends and his family. RC lived a long and full life and every moment and memory will be cherished forever.
