Olivero Garza was welcomed into the gates of Heaven on June 6, 2019 at a hospital in Alice, Texas at the age of 79. He was born on March 28, 1940 to Ramon Garza and Tomasa Alaniz in Hebbronville, Texas.
He dedicated many years of his life as a high school coach in Hebbronville and Odem, Texas before his retirement. During his career, Coach Garza had a remarkable impact on several of his students lives and will always be remembered for the wonderful man he was.
He is preceded in death by his parents and brother, Armando Garza.
Olivero leaves behind many fond memories that will be cherished by his wife, Fidela Isabel Garza of Hebbronville; daughters, Selma (Jessie) Jones of Mission, Texas, Zelda "Zorina" Martinez and Zonia (Jessie, Jr.) Rodriguez both of Beeville, Texas; siblings, Carlos Garza and Jose Ignacio (Esperanza) Garza both of Hebbronville, Roberto Garza of Houston, Texas, Eva Garza of Corpus Christi, Texas and Ramon Garza of Hebbronville; five grandchildren, Jessie Rodriguez, III, Christian Olivero Rodriguez, Ivan Rodriguez, Benjamin Martinez and Liza Torres; three great-grandchildren, Michael Martinez, Benjamin Martinez and Carlos Aguirre and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members.
Holy rosary will be prayed at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, June 10, 2019 at Funeraria Del Angel Howard-Williams in Hebbronville with visitation beginning at 4: 00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 11, 2019 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Hebbronville. Burial will follow at the New Hebbronville Cemetery.
