Maria Graciela Gomez Ramirez

Graciela (Grace) Gomez Ramirez, beloved wife, sister and aunt, passed away in Corpus Christi, Texas on November 19, 2013 at the age of 77. Grace is predeceased by her parents, Leopoldo and Leonor Gomez; nephew, Agapito Arturo Molina and brother-in-law, Larry Pair. Grace is survived by her loving husband of 33 years, Jose A. Ramirez, a World War II - Purple Heart recipient. They were married in Hebbronville, Texas on June 6, 1980.

Grace is lovingly remembered by her seven siblings, Edna Rose (Ramiro) Garza of Hebbronville, Sylvia (Agapito) Molina of Hebbronville, Leopoldo (Elda) Gomez of Houston, Deniz (Larry+) Pair of Houston, Leonel Gomez (Harry Engelbrecht) of Tarragona, Spain, Mario Gomez of Houston, and Veronica Gomez (Ana Leal) of Corpus Christi; numerous nephews and nieces and uncle Enrique (Kike) Ramirez. She is also lovingly remembered by her sister-in-law, Delia Acebo; guardian angels Raul and Mary Ramirez and caregiver Olivia.

Grace was born in Hebbronville, Texas on April 19, 1936. She graduated from Hebbronville High School in 1955 and went on to earn a Master's of Science degree from Texas A&I-Kingsville in 1978. Grace was a teacher at Edcouch-Elsa ISD and Jim Hogg County ISD for a few years as she instead chose to devote her time to her loving husband. Grace was devoted to her Catholic faith and was a Eucharistic minister, a Cursillista, and a Franciscana. For many years Grace was actively involved in the Ladies Auxiliary of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.

Holy Rosary will be on Thursday, November 21, 2013 at 7:00 p.m. with visitation starting at 4:00 p.m at Funeraria Del Angel Howard-Williams, 401 Texas, Hebbronville.

The funeral mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, November 22, 2013 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, 502 E. Santa Clara, Hebbronville.

Interment to follow at the Realitos cemetery in Realitos, Texas.

A reception to celebrate Grace will take place at the Jones Hall, in Hebbronville immediately following the services.
