Donald Guynn was preceded in death by his father Frank Guynn, and mother Rosa Sivia Guynn, four sisters Hazel Chambers, Pearl Clay, Grace Burks and Dollie Talley, four brothers, Everett, Earl, Carl, and Leo, a daughter, Donna Guynn Caire and a son Douglas Guynn.
Donald served in the 2nd Marine Division during World War II. He was wounded in action in Okinawa.
Donald managed the Engelking Grocery Store for 12 years and taught 6th grade Social Studies for 23 years. He owned an antique store, which he ran after school and on Saturday mornings for many years. He was an avid duplicate bridge player. The Premont Duplicate Bridge Club met at the Guynn’s home for over 20 years. He played in many bridge tournaments and was a member of the Kingsville Duplicate Bridge Club. He was a world traveler and just thoroughly enjoyed life.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years Evelyn Carroll Guynn, his daughter Carol Guynn Huber, son-in-law and daughter-in-law David and Teresah Caire, four grandchildren James Caire, Dalton Huber, Sara Huber Billela and Jason Caire, two great grandchildren Ameryss Davila and Avery Billela.
Funeral Service will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday November 27, 2010 at the First United Methodist Church of Premont, Texas, with burial following immediately at the Premont Cemetery.
In Lieu of flowers donations can be made to the First United Methodist Church.
