Carmen J. Gomez

Carmen J. Gomez at the age of 85, earned her wings surrounded by loved ones at her home on Thursday, January 13, 2022 in Hebbronville, TX. Carmen was born on May 15, 1936 in Sejita, TX by a midwife to Luis and Lilia S. Jasso.

Carmen was a devout Catholic always eager to learn more and serve our Lord in any way she could. One of her proudest moments was when she became a Eucharist Minister and was able to assist the priests from her beloved church, Our Lady of Guadalupe in Hebbronville.

Carmen was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend. She found her joy in serving her community, church and family. She had many talents that included painting, crafting, sewing, crocheting, embroidery, cooking, baking, singing and gave the best massages.

Carmen was preceded in death by her parents Luis and Lilia Jasso, her husband Mauro R. Gomez, her son Mauro Gomez Jr.

Carmen leaves behind many fond memories and lessons that will be treasured by her daughters Rozie Romero of Hebbronville; and Marcy Ruth († Oscar) Carreón of Corpus Christi, TX and her son Oscar (Debbie) Gomez also of Corpus Christi, her daughter-in-law Maria Elena Gomez of Hebbronville. Also surviving are her grandchildren Mauro (Marla) Gomez III and Marissa Raé Gomez both of Hebbronville, Giselle Margot and Gabriela Raquel Carreón both of Corpus Christi, Jacob Perez and Evan Barrera both of San Antonio, TX. Her precious great grandchildren Dominic and Donovyn Gomez and Jannacee Cantu of Hebbronville.

Visitation will begin at 9:00 am. Tuesday January 18, 2022 with a Rosary being Livestreamed at 9:30 a.m. at the Funeraria Del Angel Howard Williams, afterwards a Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church and will be followed by the interment at the New Hebbronville Cemetery.
