Annette Celest Johnson entered into eternal rest on Monday, February 8, 2021 at a hospital in Corpus Christi, Texas at the age of 48. She was born on August 16, 1972 to Enemencio P. “Menchito” Johnson and Rosa Chapa Johnson in Falfurrias, Texas. Annette was a proud Premont High School graduate from the Class of 1990. She was currently employed with Brooks County as the District Deputy Clerk’s Chief Deputy and dedicated over 16 years to her career.
Annette was truly loved by so many. She definitely, without a shadow of a doubt, was a change agent in the lives of those who crossed paths with her. That is a beautiful thing because the life lessons, the words of wisdom, and the tenderness that poured out of her heart, were all actually little pieces of herself, seedlings from her heart and soul that were transplanted into whomever she was nurturing and helping. That means that part of her still lives in the lives of all the people she loved enough to want to pour herself into...probably you included.
She was reunited in Heaven with her father, Menchito; brother, Jose “Chore” Luis Johnson and her companion, Frank G. Huerta, Jr.
She is survived by her mother and stepfather, Rosa C. (Abel) Villarreal of Premont, Texas; brother, Armando Enemencio (Lupita) Johnson of Kingsville, Texas; sisters, Julie J. (Israel Lara) Garcia and Martha J. Garcia both of Falfurrias, Texas; a special nephew whom she raised as her own, Rudy Ruiz of McAllen, Texas; Goddaughter, Lydia Benavidez; her companion Frank’s children, whom she cherished like her own, Angela Cabrera, Michael Huerta and Josh Huerta along with their families; 12 nieces and nephews, Marina Garcia, Javie Garcia, Emily Martinez, Daniah Martinez, Makayla Tamez, Carter Garcia, Jose Luis Johnson, Jr., Elva Marie Johnson-Celestino, Rechelle Elia Johnson, Jose Isaac Johnson, Nicholas Johnson and Armando Johnson, Jr.; a few great nieces and great nephews and numerous extended family members and friends.
Pallbearers will be Armando Johnson, Rudy Ruiz, Javie Garcia, Reynaldo Vasquez, Robert Lara, Israel Lara and Danny Cabrera.
