Amanda C. Perez-Jasso entered into the gates of heaven on Monday, March 2, 2015 at a hospital in Corpus Christi, Texas at the age of 82. She was born on June 11, 1932 to Manuel Carrales and Beatriz Garcia in San Diego, Texas. She worked for the Jim Hogg County ISD as a school teacher before her retirement. She is preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Pedro N. Perez; son, Abelardo "Abe" Perez and sister, Anita Carrales. Amanda leaves behind to cherish her memories her husband, Avelino Jasso of San Diego, Texas; daughters, Ana P. (Romeo) Valdez of Laredo, Texas, Alma P. Gutierrez of Austin, Texas and Laida P. (Xavier) Benavides of Laredo; step-children, Reynaldo (Linda) Jasso of Angola, Africa, Avelino (Selma) Jasso, Jr. of Zapata, Texas, Anabel (Richard) Gonzalez of Houston and Annette (Dr. Dave) Robison of Seattle, Washington; brother, Manuel (Alma) Carrales, Jr. of Austin; sister, Aurora Cuevas of Denver; grandchildren, Robert Perez, Abe Perez, Manuel L. Perez, Rose Marie Perez, Romeo R. Valdez, Melissa Valdez, Matt Gutierrez, Alex Gutierrez, Daniel Benavides and Clarissa Benavides; 10 step-grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; daughters-in-law, Rachel L. Perez and Shirley Silkwood; sister-in-law, Aurora Eliza Salazar and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Robert Perez, Abe Perez, Jr., Manuel L. Perez, Romeo R Valdez, Matt Gutierrez, Alex Gutierrez, Daniel Benavides and Robert Perez, Jr.
Holy rosary will be prayed at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 4, 2015 at Funeraria Del Angel Howard-Williams in Hebbronville.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 5, 2015 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Hebbronville.
Burial will follow at the New Hebbronville Cemetery.
