Jean was born July 4, 1930 in East St. Louis, IL to Raymond Joseph Fields Sr. and Gladys Louise (Haislip) Fields. She married Roy E. Fisher on May 2, 1952 in East St. Louis, IL; together they shared 70 wonderful years. Roy survives and resides in O’Fallon, MO.
Also surviving are their beloved children, Robert “Wayne” Fisher of Sarasota, FL, Karen (Brian) Musser of West Lafayette, IN, Ruth (Brian) Adams of O’Fallon, MO and Alan (Gina) Fisher of Elizabethtown, KY; 10 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and 4 step great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Raymond (Mary) Fields Jr., June Lee Needham and Jane (Tom) Petroff; and her grandson, Justin Adams.
Jean was a 1948 graduate of Eastside High School and while attending high school, she began beauty school to become a licensed beautician. After high school, she passed on her talents to others and taught at the beauty school. She owned her own shop for a couple years, and then worked out of her home. She was not only a stylist for many years, but also a dear friend to her clients.
Years ago, Jean took art classes at Rend Lake College, where she earned awards for her beautiful pieces. She also taught sign language classes. She was active with her church group, WMU.
Above all else, Jean loved her family dearly. Although her loss leaves a painful void, they celebrate in knowing she is healthy, fully restored and rejoicing in heaven.
VISITATION: A visitation for Jean will be held on Friday, September 30, 2022 from 10:00 A.M.- 11:30 A.M. at Lake View Funeral Home, Fairview Heights, IL.
FUNERAL: A funeral will immediately follow the visitation, at 11:30 A.M. at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Lake View Memorial Gardens.
