Thomas Stevens, 62, of Shiloh, IL passed away Monday, October 10, 2022. He was born November 1, 1959 in Japan to Thomas and Miyo (Arai) Stevens. He married Lori Wood December 24, 1985 in Kaysville Utah. They were sealed for time and all eternity on March 2, 2002 in the St. Louis, MO temple. Tom served in the Air Force for over 20 years. He then continued his career serving the military as a civilian contractor. Tom was a proud member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served a mission for the church in Munich, Germany from 1979-1981. He loved serving in various callings and positions in the church and was always willing to do whatever was asked of him. Tom had a passion for history, sports, reading and movies. He had a friendly and outgoing personality and will be remembered for his giving heart and kindness to everyone he met.
Survivors include his loving wife, Lori Stevens; sons, Lucas (Joy) Toone and Corey Stevens; grandchildren, Logan, Sophia and Landon Toone; sister, Linda (Siamak) Tavallaei and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents and granddaughter, Lydia Toone.
Tom was as generous in death as he was in life and donated his organs to help save the lives of others.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 16, 2022 from 4:00pm to 7:00pm in Lake View Funeral Home, 5000 N. Illinois St., Fairview Heights, IL 62208. Funeral service will be held on Monday, October 17, 2022 at 11:00am in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 255 Fairwood Hills Rd., O’Fallon, IL 62269. Interment in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to the National Kidney Foundation.
