Susan Elaine Romanick

Susan Elaine Romanick, 69, of Reno, Nevada, born March 22, 1944, passed away Friday, July 19, 2013, after fighting a lengthy illness, with both unbelievable courage and strength. She was surrounded by her daughters and close friends as she made her journey back to her Lord.

Susan was preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Blanche Romanick, of O’Fallon, Illinois.

Susan was an amazing Mom to her three daughters: Kim Romanick Sinskey (Dennis Mike of Granite City, Illinois, Ava Maria Romanick Meyer, of Granite City, Illinois, and Rachael Renee Romanick, of Reno, Nevada.

Susan was blessed with 10 grandchildren and four great grandchildren: Beloved grandchildren; Brooke Nichole Rochett; David Christopher Lyell, Samantha Sue Romanick, Tamitha Elaine Romanick, Dezerae Christina Lyell, Cody Paul Fryou, Francesca Bianca Conforte, Corey William Kenneth Lyell, Annabella Giuseppina Conforte, and Hunter Fisher, Jr.; beloved great grandchildren, Riley James Rockett, Ashton Michael Lyell, Broden Paul Arnt, Jada Lynn Lyell, and Londynn Michael Lyell.

Susan was a kind hearted, loving woman, who always loved life, gave generously, and put her heart and love into everyone and everything around her. When she was raising her daughters, she touched numerous lives of other young girls, by being a Girl Scout Leader to Troop #195 for Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church & School, in Collinsville, Illinois for many years.

Susan started her career working for Belleville Memorial Hospital for 12 years on the OB/GYN floor. She then went on to further her education at Almed Academy, where she received her certificate as a Medical Assistant. Susan left Illinois in 1991 to retire and live with her youngest daughter and granddaughters in Reno, Nevada. She will be greatly missed by her family, friends, and her loving and constant companion, “King”, her loving Pit Bull.

Funeral: Services will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, July 26, 2013, at the funeral home. Susan will be laid to rest, next to her mother, in Lake View Memorial Gardens, In Fairview Heights, Illinois.
