Shirley May Stoddard, 88, of Belleville, Illinois, passed away on Friday, September 27th, 2024, at St. Paul’s Senior Living Community in Belleville. She was born in Belleville, Illinois on May 10th, 1936.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Clyde and Eugenia Mager, her husband, Don Stoddard, who happened to be her high school sweetheart. They were married on July 17th, 1954, and shared 68 years together, and one grandson, Austin King.
She is survived by four daughters, Dawn (Dale) Anderson of Belleville, IL, Sherry (James) Mullen of Shiloh, IL, Sandra King of Smithton, IL, and Doreen (Edward) Harter of Smithton, IL; grandchildren, Trevor (Allison) Sehr, Tyler Sehr, Michael Mullen, Chelsea (Adam) Erickson, Garrett (Kayla) King, Brigette King, Joshua (Cierra) Harter and Abigail Harter; and great-grandchildren, Brett, Parker, Miles, Harper, Millie and Greyson. She is further survived by sisters, Patricia Wegner, Clytie C. Mager-McLaughlin, Frances E. Black, and brothers, Clyde G. (Sandy) Mager, Jr., and Frank L. Mager, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Shirley had worked as a Waitress for 25 years at Steak and Shake and the Shiloh Grille. Years ago, Don and Shirley loved to spend their time camping and traveling together. She loved to sew, quilt and garden and cherished the moments spent with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm on Wednesday, October 2nd, 2024, at Lake View Funeral Home, Fairview Heights, Illinois.

Interment will follow in Lake View Memorial Gardens, Fairview Heights, Illinois.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to St. Paul’s Memory Care, especially Dana and Loretta, and also to the team at Family Hospice, especially Roberto. Family Hospice’s friendship, care and compassion shown to Shirley in the recent months meant so much to the family.
