Patricia Loretta Knapp

Patricia Loretta (nee Grab) Knapp, 86, of Belleville, Illinois, born on May 16, 1936 in St. Louis, MO, passed away on Saturday, October 8, 2022 at Belleville Memorial Hospital with her loving family by her side.

Patricia married David F. Knapp Jr. in 1956 and they were married for 60 years. She was a homemaker most of her life, but also worked for Bell Telephone in the 1950’s, and for Hardees in early 90’s. Pat also worked as childcare provider in her home for friends and family throughout the years and also was a homeschool teacher to her grandchildren.

Her family was important to Pat, and she was extremely devoted to her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She helped her husband build both of their homes. She will truly be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Patricia was preceded in death by her husband, David F. Knapp Jr.; her parents, Joseph A. and Irma L. Grab; her brothers, Donald J. Grab; her in-laws, Ruth and David F. Knapp Sr.; and sister-in-laws, Rosalee Hitchings and Joyce Grab.

Surviving to cherish her memory are her two daughters, Teresa Crouse and Lisa (Chuck) Cange; seven grandchildren, Robert (Nikkilina) Crouse, Elizabeth (Charles) Keefer, Stephen (Eileen) Cange, Ryan (Moli) Crouse, David (Jessica) Cange, Angela (Cameron) Justice, and Timothy Cange; 14 great-grandchildren, Abigail Cange, Lindsey Cange, Reagan Crouse, Amy Cange, Julia Keefer, Madeline Cange, Matthew Crouse, Ryleigh Crouse, Luke Cange, Nora Keefer, Zoe Cange, Mordecai Cange, Hannah Cange and Benjamin Cange; two brother-in-laws, Leland (Mary) Knapp and Harry Knapp and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Memorial donations may be made to DAV (Disabled American Veterans).

A memorial service for Patricia will be held on Friday, October 28, 2022 at 5:00 P.M. at Lake View Funeral Home, Fairview Heights, IL.

A visitation will be held prior to the service, from 3:00 P.M.- 5:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
