John Louis Molinar, 75, of Fairview Heights, passed away Friday, February 9, 2024. He was born June 19, 1948 in East St. Louis to John and Margaret Molinar. He married the love of his life, Georgia Collins, July 17, 1970 in St. Peter Cathedral in Belleville, IL. John had a love for numbers and problem solving which lead him to career as an accomplished consulting actuary. His exceptional analytical skills and strategic thinking made him invaluable to his clients, who admired his unwavering commitment to accuracy and precision. Beyond his professional achievements, one could often find John cheering on his beloved St. Louis Cardinals. Baseball brought him joy and cherished memories made with friends and families at the ballpark. He also enjoyed boating on Carlyle Lake and traveling with his wife, Georgia. He cherished every moment spent with his family and he will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Surviving to cherish his memory include his loving wife of 53 years, Georgia Molinar; daughter, Lena (Sean) Palmer; son, John Molinar; grandson, River Palmer; sisters, Mary Ann (Roger) Becker, Marilyn (John) Palmer and Marlene (Steve) Austin; nieces, Lindsey, Lauren, Myai, Desiree, Trinity, Nicole; nephews, Brett and Terry and numerous great nieces and nephews. John was preceded in death by his parents.
A memorial service for John will be held on Tuesday, February 20, 2024 at 11:00am in Lake View Funeral Home, 5000 N. Illinois St., Fairview Heights, IL 62208 with a visitation from 10:00am until time of service. Memorial contributions can be made to Community Interfaith Food Pantry.
