John was disabled and lived at Misericordia Heart of Mercy Home. He had a happy life there and was well taken care of, having lived there from the age of 21. He was known as a very loving, kind, compassionate and joyful person. He enjoyed playing with his string, beads and blocks; it looked as if he was fishing. John also enjoyed playing with a ball and clothes basket as if he was bowling. He had 2 cranes that he did a variety of things with, but when he was home, his favorite toys were his 5 vacuum sweepers with matching hoses and power nozzles. He revved up the motors, and interchanged parts of the sweepers. He also loved watching his home videos on DVD and VHS.
John was very loved by all who knew him and was complimented often by the staff at Misericodia Home for his capacity to love others and to be very helpful.
Visitation will be Wednesday, August 28, 2024 at Lake View Funeral Home, Fairview Heights, IL, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. with services beginning at 11. Internment will follow in Lake View Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
Memorials may be made in John ‘s memory to Misericordia Home.
