James Steven Wylie, 45, of Collinsville, passed away unexpectedly Friday, December 2, 2022. He was born December 27, 1976 to Gary and Diana (Duckworth) Wylie. He married the love of his life, Kathy Muyleart, June 19, 1999 in Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church in Collinsville. James was a security guard at Securitas. He enjoyed playing video games, going to the movies, and swimming. He was a wonderful husband and father and loved spending time with his family. James’s family will miss all his great cuddles and joking around with them.
Survivors include his wife, Kathy Wylie; daughter, Alexis Wylie, mother, Diana Wylie; father-in-law, Lew (Cindy) Muyleart; sister-in-law, “Aunt” Anna (Jessie) Vandgriff; brother-in-law, Joey (JoAnn) Muyleart and numerous nieces and nephews. James is preceded in death by his father, Gary Wylie and mother-in-law, Cheryl Hancock.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 8, 2022 from 4:00pm-7:00pm in Lake View Funeral Home, 5000 N. Illinois St., Fairview Heights, IL 62208. Funeral service will be held Friday, December 9, 2022 at 11:00am in the funeral home. Interment to follow in Lake View Memorial Gardens. Memorial contributions can be made to the family.
