Gloria A. Simpson Hutchison

Gloria A. Hutchison, nee Simpson, 88 of St. Louis, Missouri, formerly of Collinsville, Illinois born, August 19, 1925 in East St. Louis, Illinois, died Friday, July 3, 2014 at St Anthony’s Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri.

Gloria had a deep love and appreciation for music. She was a huge Jazz fan, especially Ella Fitzgerald, played the organ, and loved to dance. Gloria retired form Collinsville Unit 10 School District where she worked as aid to her beloved special education children. She was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother. She loved animals, especially dogs, and enjoyed playing cards.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William H. Hutchison Sr., her parents; James A. and Evelyn, nee Riester,

Simpson, and a brother, Melvin Simpson.

Surviving are her children; William H. (Nan) Hutchison Jr. of Largo, Florida, and Nancy (Michael) Gorla of St. Louis, Missouri, her grandchildren; Sarah Hutchison, Jay (Esther) Hutchison, Amy (Patrick) Minor, Laural (Rick) Hughes, and Katie (Scott) Hannigan, a sister, Betty Shemoney, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral: Funeral services will be held at 2pm, Tuesday, July 8, 2014, at Lake View Funeral Home, Fairview Heights, Illinois. Interment will be in Lake View Memorial Gardens, Fairview Heights, Illinois.
