Elizabeth W Walsh

Elizabeth W. Walsh, nee Mitchell, 90, of Fairview Heights, Illinois, born, April 5, 1926, in East St Louis, Illinois, passed away, Thursday, February 23, 2017 at Barnes-Jewish Hospital from complications following a fall in her home.

Mrs. Walsh was a member for more than 45 years of the Caseyville Moose Lodge; was a life-time member of Life Church in Swansea. She managed Mitchell’s Market in Rosemont/Washington Park for 45 years.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Francis E. Walsh (1978-1998) and her parents James and Roba Louise, (nee Tucker) Mitchell; her sisters, Birdie Gillison, Lucille “Susie” Pate; her brothers, George Mitchell, Bert Mitchell and Londie “Mitch” Mitchell.

Surviving by three daughters, Cynthia (Dennis) Mhoon-Venable, of Kirkwood, Missouri, Crisandra Underwood, of Fairview Heights, Illinois, and Elizabeth “Beth” Mhoon of Caseyville, Illinois; her stepson, Frank E. (Yvonne) Walsh, of Metropolis, Illinois; four grandchildren, Anna (nee Mhoon-Venable) (Robert) Thibaut, of Maplewood, Missouri, Chad (Cathy) Underwood, of Bethalto, Illinois, Capt. Nicholas (Susie) Underwood USAF of Florida, and Natalie Mhoon, of Collinsville, Illinois; plus Frank and Yvonne’s Walsh’s children, grandchildren and great grandchildren; one great grandchild, Jeffery Underwood of Bethalto and her nieces and nephews.

Visitation: Funeral viewing on Friday, March 3 from 9 am to 2 pm, Lake View Funeral Home, Fairview Heights.

Funeral begins at 2 pm.

Interment at 3pm at Lake View Memorial Gardens, Fairview Heights, Illinois.
