Carolyn went to school in Belleville, IL and in 1951 she married the love of her life, Edward McCullough. To that union, a daughter and son were born. For a short time, Carolyn worked at Scott Air Force Base as an office assistant, but her family was her passion. So, she left the office to stay home and care for her husband and children.
Carolyn liked eating at restaurants and trying different types of food. She and her husband loved square dancing and playing card games with friends. When Carolyn’s children were small, she was in the Mother’s Club at St. Mary’s Catholic church and was a Cub Scout Den Leader. Carolyn loved her family with all her heart and she will be deeply missed.
Carolyn leaves to cherish her memory, her daughter, Kathie Morton of Belleville; son, Steven K. (Lynn) McCullough of Belleville; 8 grandchildren, Ryan (Beth) Morton, Kyle (Kari) Morton, Colin Morton, Kassie Morton, Kiara Morton, Timothy McCullough, Daniel McCullough, and Andrew McCullough; five great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her husband Edward; parents, Walter and Caroline; brother, Walter Biekert; granddaughter, Kara Lynne Morton and her great-granddaughter, Lauren Morton-Bosick.
There will be a private service for Carolyn on Monday, July 15, 2024. at Lake View Funeral Home 5000 N. Illinois Street, Fairview Heights, IL, with a small luncheon for the family immediately following the service.
