Born in Battle Creek, MI, the daughter of the late James R. and Emma R. (Jenkins) Jordan, she spent her youth in Battle Creek, MI, lived on Cape Cod for 35 years and most recently Leesburg, FL for 19 years before moving to Fairhaven this past year.
Mrs. Mc Nutt was a graduate of Bellevue Rural Agricultural School in Bellevue, MI and was a graduate of Upper Cape Cod Regional-Technical School in Bourne, MA where she studied nursing. She was employed as an LPN for 20 years with Jordan Hospital in Plymouth, MA and prior to that became the first Woman EMT on Cape Cod where she was employed for 10 years.
While living on Cape Cod she was a very active volunteer for Cape Cod
Cerebral Palsy and in Leesburg, FL she was an active member of the AMVETS National Ladies Auxiliary, as well as the VFW. She enjoyed roller skating, bowling, gardening, traveling and square and round dancing.
She is survived by her two children Deborah Jenkins of Fairhaven, MA and Michael Jenkins of E. Sandwich, MA; five step-children Katharine McNutt DiBenedetto of Norwood, MA, Thomas McNutt of Fayette, OH, Timothy McNutt Kojama of Columbus, OH, Robert Miller of Montpelier, OH, and Cynthia Miller of Holland, OH; seven brothers and sisters Carolyn Sutton of Sturgis, MI, Morene Huggett of Paw Paw, MI, Elvene Hoogakker of Galesburg, MI, Helen LeClear of Olivet, MI, Jean Reid of Nashville, MI, Paul Jordan of Battle Creek, MI and Donald Jordan of Battle Creek, MI; twenty grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Mrs. McNutt was also the sister of the late Robert and David Jordan.
Her graveside service will be held on Thursday, November 10, 2011 at 1:00 PM at the Massachusetts National Cemetery off Connery Ave, Bourne, MA. Memorial contributions in her honor may be made to Cerebral Palsy of Massachusetts 43 Old Colony Ave., Quincy, MA 02170.
